Let em know what you think. You need the basic set and for every player a rally-car (or a pawn or something). The island is build with the sharp point heading north. You place all the rally-cars in the sea north of the island. The rally-cars are placed in the middle of a hex-tile. Play as normal, but every players had 2 other options in his turn. 1) Reserve materials for the rally. You lay beside some of your materialcards. These cards cannot be used for anything except for the rally. The don't count for the 7-card limit or the monopoly-card. They can only be stolen if the robber is in the same space as your rally-car. 2) Drive the rally-car. You can enter a connected hex-tile by paying the material of that new hex-tile times the numberchip on that tile. So entering a wood-6 will cost 6 wood. You can pay from your hand and/or the reservations. If you cross an own road when entering, the costs will be halved (rounded up), so entering a brick-9 will cost 5 brick. You can move as many hexes as you can pay in 1 turn. The desert: Entering the desert is free. But leaving the desert can be difficult. You have to throw 2 dice and only if the number is equal or less the numberchip of the hex-tile you are entering, this move will succeed. If not, you cannot move this turn (and don't pay any materials). The robber: He steals as normal, but when in a hex with rally-cars, he can choose to steal from the reservations in stead of the handcards. The end: You win the game if you reach 12 VP's OR if your rally-car reaches the most southern hex of Catan. Variations from Godwin Solcher: Build the island with the sharp point to the side. Now you have 4 seatiles on the north and everyone starts on a different seatile (before building anything). The finish is on one of the 3 most southern tiles. In the desert there is a checkpoint, so everyone has to go through the desert. When entering a hex in which another rally-car is, you may move it sideways to another hex for no costs. When the moved car is moved to another car this car is not moved. Brent Carter
