Thema: Talisman House Rule Datum: 09.01.02 20:53:27 (MEZ) Mitteleuropäische Zeit From: kborst@wideframe.com (Karl Borst) Hi. Just found your great Talisman site. I've loved this game for years, but really didn't realise it had such a following. One of the key issues from the game that we ran into after multiple plays was dealing with the randomness of the game. Here is a house rule we came up with to provide some extra strategy: At the beginning of the game, each player draws five adventure cards as their "hand" - they may be looked at. Whenever a player draws an adventure card, they may decide to replace that card with a card in their hand. Whether or not they do, the opponent on that player's left then gets the opportunity to replace the adventure card with one from their hand. If this happens, no more replacing can be done. All replaced cards are placed on the bottom of the adventure deck. On a player's turn, that player may spend 10 gold to purchase a new adventure card for their hand. If all players ever have no cards in hand, shuffle the Adventure Card Pile. For example: Jim and Dave are playing a two man game of Talisman. Jim draws an adventure card, revealing the Blue Dragon. As its only early in the game, and this would be certain death, Jim replaces the Blue Dragon with a 2 Gold treasure card from his hand. Dave thinks Jim is getting away too easily, and replaces both cards with a Hobgoblin from his hand. The 'Blue Dragon' and '2 Gold' cards are put on the bottom of the adventure pile and Jim now has to defeat the Hobgoblin. Any chance that you will be posting the other Characters from Dragons? Keep up the good work, Karl Borst.
