G@mebox author Ralf Togler writes about the game:

¡Teto! is a team game in which the players of a team have to guess a word that another member of their team is trying to tell them. Ah, we know that one, don't we? In fact, it's nothing new to begin with - there really are already a whole series of games with a similar approach.

But of course, the guessing mechanism in ¡Teto! is a little different to what we are used to. It works like this: the player of the team that reads out the words first receives a card in their hand. Six words are written on it. The pile of face-down cards from which he has drawn the card then shows a consonant on the face-down side, e.g. a “P”. And when reading aloud, the player must then replace all the consonants in the words listed on the card with this. For example, "Computer" becomes "Poppupep", "Hard" becomes "Papp".

Yes, that's not too easy. Fortunately, you can also use body language while reading, which works well with some terms, but is much more difficult with others. How about "Pippp", for example? Right, that was "Birth" and you can still somehow tease that out with your body. With "puppe" ("judge"), it's much more difficult already.

You have 30 seconds to guess the six words, after which it's the next player's turn. All the words are printed on the cards in three languages - Spanish, Catalan and English – well, to be honest, I stuck to the English version, difficult enough...

And yes, ¡Teto! is of course a party game. 4-10 players are possible and probably even more. It definitely degenerates into chaos, so many consonants in one word are a real challenge. If the group gets well involved, it's really great fun. However, although the mechanism is really funny, the basic game principle has been seen many times before. In this respect, you shouldn't expect too much from the game. But if you take that into account and don't want to keep pulling the game out, you get a really nice filler here, something that you can bring back to the table after midnight and the one or other drink.
